Our First Android on It’s Way

The HTC G1 available on T-Mobile.

Today we took another step forward in our commitment towards application development for the Google Android by purchasing the HTC G1. We left empty handed from our local T-Mobile store due a faulty credit check system in store. Instead we opted to purchase the phone from T-Mobile online, where we found a better 18 month contract deal ( £100 purchase, £20 monthly). For a few months now we’ve been busy dreaming up applications and testing out the development platform itself using the Android emulator. However, you can’t beat the feel of holding the thing in your hand to grasp its capabilities. We’re looking forward to browsing Android Market and trying out some of the applications in there before be start development on our own. Reviews of the HTC G1 and some of the applications are to follow.
